We Take Your Pet's Health Seriously
Here at East Bernard Animal Hospital we treat your pets like our pets, giving them the best care possible. We opened our doors 40 years ago with Rick Straznicky, DVM and are continuing the legacy of exceptional care in East Bernard and surrounding areas with Katharine Blackert, DVM.
We wish to focus on providing exceptional care with a country flair. Specializing in routine and preventative veterinary care for Cats, Dogs, and Horses, we strive for continuous improvement! We want to continue giving back to the community by sharing our knowledge, bringing education to the forefront, and keeping our prices fair because we care. |
Pet-Loving, Highly-Educated VetDr. K. grew up with her parents, James and Margaret Blackert, and two younger sisters, Vickie and Lissa, on Tylwyth Welsh Pony farm just out side East Bernard. She has been helping her dad with his veterinary practice in Sugar Land, TX, working with horses, dogs, and cats for as long as she can remember. After graduating as valedictorian from East Bernard High School in 2009, she attended Texas A&M University and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Biology in 2012. She then gained valuable experience working as a veterinary technician at Old Town Animal Hospital, a Multi-Vet Animal Hospital in Katy, TX with Shannon Hicks, DVM for the next 18 months before returning to College Station to continue her education. She spent 4 years at Texas A & M College of Veterinary Medicine earning her DVM and graduated summa cum laude in May, 2018. Dr. K. is excited to return to her home town and looks forward to serving the veterinary needs of her community.
